Explanation:
It is in the best interest of the Community Redevelopment Agency to enter into an agreement with one consultant to provide architectural and engineering services that are required to implement the Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape project in an expeditious fashion. The term of the contract will be for the Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape project only and services to be accomplished under this contract will include, but not be limited to the following:
• Develop schedules, drawings and cost estimates
• Perform field test, laboratory test and collect data
• Attend public meetings and coordinate public input into the final design
• Prepare and submit signed and sealed construction drawings to the Hollywood Building Department and other applicable agencies
• Other related architectural and engineering services
The CRA has followed the procedures established in the Florida Statutes, Section 287.055, Consultants’ Competitive Negotiation Act, to procure services from a Professional Services from architectural and engineering services consulting firm. Statements of Qualifications were received from four firms as follows:
• ODP Architecture & Design and Kimley Horn Associates, Inc.
• The BetaJones Group, Inc.
• Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc.
• Bermello Ajamil & Partners Inc.
An Evaluation Committee comprised of in-house professionals, more specifically, one Director, and one Project Manager, reviewed the Statements of Qualifications and ranked the firms based upon specific selection criteria. It is the recommendation of the Evaluation Committee to rank the four firms in the following order for consideration:
1. Bermello Ajamil & Partners Inc.
2. Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc.
3. ODP Architecture & Design and Kimley Horn Associates, Inc.
4. The BetaJones Group, Inc
The request for qualifications called for the top ranked firm to be selected to provide consulting services for the Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape project. All related capital costs are subject to review and approval of the CRA Board prior to commencement of the project. The negotiated contract will be brought back to the CRA Board for consideration at a later date.
Fiscal Impact:
Once negotiated funding for this expenditure is available in the Downtown CRA FY 2021 Budget, in account number 166.669902.55200.563010.001349.000.000 - Const Imprvmt - Hlwd Blvd Streetscape Project.
