Explanation:
In December 2019, the City reaffirmed the Class 6 category under the Community Rating System ("CRS") program which results in a 20% reduction to flood insurance premiums for property owners within the City of Hollywood. Activities under this program include reviews of National Flood Insurance Program ("NFIP") policies and claims information for daily floodplain management, hazard mitigation and Repetitive Loss Area Analysis activities. The policies and claims data contains personally identifiable information that is protected by the Privacy Act of 1974. Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency requires an Information Sharing Access Agreement to obtain the latest available data for these purposes. The data provided to the City on February 23, 2017 contains flood insurance claims data through June 7, 2013 where 221 properties are considered Repetitive Loss, which is any insurable building for which two (2) or more claims of more than $1,000 were paid by the NFIP within any rolling ten-year period since 1978.

As part of the CRS Program 5-year Verification, Activity 501 requires communities to provide updates to the Repetitive Loss list when preparing a Repetitive Loss Area Analysis to analyze causes of flooding and to disclose status of mitigation for each Repetitive Loss property based on the claims.
