Explanation:
The 2007 Water System Master Plan identified the need to replace aging water distribution system pipes throughout the City. In order to address the findings of the 2007 Water System Master Plan, the Department of Public Utilities developed a City-wide Water Main Replacement Program, which is currently being implemented. The Water Main Replacement Program prioritizes the replacement of the water mains based on the age and material of the pipelines and pipeline breaks rate in an area.
Hollywood Beach includes the North Beach and the South Central Beach neighborhoods. The water mains in the North Beach Neighborhood and South Central Neighborhood (along A1A) were installed between 1940 and 1968 and have reached their useful life and need to be replaced. Additionally, the Department has identified the need to upsize/retrofit existing sanitary sewer, force main and lift station infrastructure in the Hollywood Beach Area. The scope of services for the design and construction services for the Hollywood Beach Utility Improvements includes the following tasks:
* Topographic survey
* Environmental survey
* Utilities verification
* Subsurface utility evaluation
* Geotechnical investigation
* Design, including Tech Memo, 90% design submitted and complete bid package design
* Engineer's estimate of construction cost
* Permitting
