Explanation:
The Hollywood Art and Culture Center, Inc. ("HACC") currently plans and coordinates performing arts programs at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center ("HCPAC").

The HACC holds the Broward County distinction as one of six Major Cultural Institutions and the only one with this status in Hollywood or South Broward.

The HACC has 14 years of experience effectively operating the Hollywood Performing Arts Center and extensive knowledge relating to the cultural arts programming.

The HACC has been serving the Hollywood Community and partnering with the City on many art and cultural programming events.

The City passed and adopted Resolution R-2018-349, which authorized the City and Hollywood Art and Culture Center, Inc. to enter into a one-year agreement to plan and coordinate performing arts programs at the HCPAC in the amount of $70,000.00.

Section 38.40(C) (8) of the City's Purchasing Ordinance allows the competitive bidding process to be waived when the City Commission declares by a 5/7ths affirmative vote that the competitive bidding process is not in the best interest of the City.

Fiscal Impact: Funding in the amount of $70,000.00 is available in the City's FY2021 budget in account number 001.300601.57200.531170.000000.000.000.
