Explanation:
In November 2016, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2016-368, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts received funding for the 2017/2018 Children's Services Council ("CSC") Maximizing Out Of School Time ("MOST") Year-Round grant available to fund Youth Summer Programs and After School Programs.

The grant funding helps to offset staff costs and departmental expenses, while enabling the City to offer safe, affordable, quality summer camp programs and one after school program that will serve an estimated 400 youth.

The CSC grant requires a minimum 5% match from the local government receiving the grant.

Fiscal Impact:

To accept and execute all applicable grant documents and agreements for the 2020/2021 Children's Services Council of Broward County MOST Grant in the amount of $582,977. If approved, the grant requires in-kind matching funds estimated to be $126,968 in the form of a portion of current full time PRCA staff salaries and will not have any additional impact to the City's FY 2021 Budget.
