Explanation:
The State of Florida has been awarded funds pursuant to Section 601(d) of the Social Security Act, as amended by Section 5001 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES).
On August 26, 2020, a portion of the CARES Act Funds (designated the "Coronavirus Relief Funds" or "CRF funds") in the amount of $592,500.00 was distributed to the City in accordance with to the CRF Subrecipient Agreement with the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. This action was authorized via Resolution No. R-2020-176.
On October 7, 2020, the City Commission passed and approved the execution of a First Amendment to the CRF Subrecipient Agreement in order for the City to receive an additional distribution of CARES Act Funds in the amount of $355,500.00, for an amended total agreement funding of $948,000.00.
This resolution retains HOPE South Florida, Inc. to administer Re-Housing and Eviction Prevention activities to benefit Hollywood residents who have been impacted by COVID-19.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this agreement will be made available in account number 111.160501.55400.583237.001338.000.000, subject to the approval of a companion item by the City Commission.
Per the CRF agreement, all CRF funding must be expended by December 30, 2020. Additionally, administrative expenditures may not exceed 10% of the funding allocation.
