Explanation:
Section 2.03 of the City Charter requires the election of the vice-mayor by a majority vote of the total membership of the City Commission eligible to vote, for a term of one year. In the absence of any language in Section 2.03 limiting or restricting the election of the vice-mayor, the election must be open and unconditional. The City Commission wishes to express its intent regarding the election of the vice-mayor pursuant to Section 2.03.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
