Title

A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Authorizing The Appropriate City Officials To Extend The Blanket Purchase Order With Laz Florida Parking, LLC. For Cashiering Services For An Estimated Expenditure Of $71,481.96.

Body

Staff Recommends:  Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The Police Department - Parking Division currently requires an agreement with a qualified contractor to provide cashiering services in the Radius and Van Buren parking garages 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

On October 21, 2015, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2015-325, which authorized the approval of a Blanket Purchase Order for cashiering services for a three year period with an option to renew for two additional one year periods. On November 7, 2018, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2018-348, which authorized the utilization of the first one year renewal period from November 1, 2018 through October 31, 2019.

The City Manager previously approved a 90 day extension until February 1, 2020, per Section 38.48 of the City of Hollywood Code of Ordinances that allows the City Manager to extend a contract for operational purposes for up to 90 days. Any further extensions require the approval of the City Commission.

Due to unanticipated issues with installation of the new parking access controls, the Parking Division has found it necessary to continue the contracted cashiering services for an additional 90 days.

The Chief of Police and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve the extension of the blanket purchase order for cashiering services for both Radius and Van Buren parking garages for a 90 day period for an estimated amount of $71,481.96. Funding has been provided in the Parking Division FY 2020 budget in the Van Buren and Radius Contractual Services account.
