Explanation:

The Water Treatment Plant is the EOC for Public Utilities. As such, WTP personnel and management found it necessary to secure the place by installing high Velocity Impact Resistant Windows to replace the inefficient windows installed decades ago.

 

The City Water Treatment Plant exterior windows and doors in several buildings need to be replaced with impact windows and doors (the “Project”).

 

On October 17, 2019, the Department of Public Utilities issued bid no. 19-4044 soliciting qualified construction services for the Project, and, on November 13, 2019, two bid proposals were received at the Office of the City Clerk and were publicly opened at the City’s Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant with the following results:

After thoroughly evaluating the bid proposals for compliance with the bid documents, the Department of Public Utilities staff determined that Pane-Liss Glass Product Supply is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

 

A Notice of Intent to Award related to the project was posted on the City’s website and in DemandStar on November 13, 2019, and resulted in no bid protests.

 

The Department of Public Utilities staff recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to issue the attached purchase order with Pane-Liss Glass Product Supply in the amount of $102,268.00.

 

It is necessary to amend the approved Fiscal Year 2020 Capital Improvements Program as set forth in the attached Exhibit “A”.

 

The estimated construction time for this project is 90 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date.
