Explanation:
February is National Black History Month which Honors African American Achievements and recognizes their significant roles in United States History.
Since 1928, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History has provided a national theme for Black History Month, and this year’s theme is African Americans and the Vote.
The proclamation will be accepted by Barry University - Dr. Glenn Bowen, AT&T Pioneers, Daphne Dilbert, and Diana Marrero of the AAAC.
The proclamation will be presented at the February 5, 2020 City Commission Meeting.
