Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities requesting to purchase a trailer mounted high efficiency, low pressure pump for emergency high tides, flooding as well as general pumping and construction repairs within the City of Hollywood. The requested pump was competitively bid through the Florida Sheriff’s Association, pursuant to Solicitation Number FSA-19-VEH17.0, Southern Zone, Specification #171 - Heavy Trucks & Equipment that was opened on October 1, 2019, and was awarded to Thompson Pump and MFG Co., LLC (“Thompson Pump”), for a one year contract. Thompson Pump has agreed to provide the pump as listed in the Florida Sheriff’s Association solicitation to the City under the same pricing, terms and conditions
The Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve the issuance of a blanket purchase order for to Thompson Pump for a Trailer Mounted High Efficiency, Low Pressure Pump in an estimated amount of $110,938.00.
Section 38.40 (C)(5) of the Purchasing Ordinance allows the Director to procure, without following formal procedures, all goods and services which are subject of contracts with the state, its political subdivisions, the United States government, other governmental entities, or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, provided that the goods and services are (i) the subject of a price schedule negotiated by the state or the United States government, or (ii) the subject of a contract with another governmental entity or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, which contract is based strictly on competitive bids or competitive proposals and not on any preference.
