Explanation:
The Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department is requesting to purchase seven vehicles for Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Command Staff to replace a portion of the aging fleet for maintenance and operational services. On January 16, 2018, the City Commission approved R-2019-007, which authorized the Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department to purchase 19 new vehicles. Since then, the Department purchased twelve vehicles but was unable to purchase the remaining seven due to unavailability at the time.
Utilizing the Florida Sheriffs Association contract which was competitively bid, the City is requesting to purchase seven 2020 Ford Explorers from Duval Ford, LLC for an amount of $218,456.00.
