Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts recommends replacing the existing fleet of 120 golf carts at Orangebrook Golf and Country Club. Industry standard to replace golf cart fleets is four years. Orangebrook Golf and Country Club golf cart fleet is seven years old which has exceeded its useful life and becoming operationally inefficient.
Staff recommends replacement of the existing fleet with the E-Z-GO 2020 TXT Electric golf carts to ensure operational continuity for Orangebrook. We currently have the option to purchase new golf carts for a total fleet price of $336,120.00 (less the $180,000.00 credit trade-in credit). However, given the pending renovation of Orangebrook Golf and Country Club, leasing the golf carts is a plausible option that would allow for operational flexibility in the near future. The cost to lease 120 E-Z-GO 2020 TXT Electric golf carts is $145,152.00 for a two year period, equating to an annual cost of $72,576.00.
