Explanation:
Small Business Saturday, November 30, 2019, which falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is an initiative to drive consumers to shop at local merchants during the heaviest shopping weekend of the year. Small Business Saturday objectives include providing incentive opportunities for shoppers and small businesses, and encourages the media to promote awareness of what independently owned businesses offer.
The City of Hollywood supports local businesses for creating jobs and boosting the economy. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and hold our communities together.
The proclamation will be accepted by Anne Hotte, CEO/Executive Director, Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Don Weimer, President, Downtown Hollywood Business Association, and Idelma Quintana, Acting President, Johnson Street Business District.
The proclamation will be presented at the November 20, 2019 City Commission meeting.
