Explanation:

The Police Department requires school crossing guards services throughout the year and for the summer school session. This service is required to aide children in crossing busy intersections near school locations and for crossing guards to protect the safety and welfare of our children. There are crossing guards located throughout the City, and each guard is required to be at their assigned location for an hour and a half each morning, and one hour each afternoon, for approximately thirty-six weeks (36) per year. On September 21, 2016, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2016-280, which authorized the approval of a Blanket Purchase Order for School Crossing Guard Services for a three (3) year period with an option to renew for two additional one year periods.  This resolution is requesting to utilize the first one year renewal period beginning October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.
