Explanation:
This Resolution recommends that the City Commission authorize the issuance, by the appropriate City officials, of a Letter of Approval to the Hollywood Historical Society Inc. (HHS) authorizing the society to make improvements to the City-owned Hammerstein House, located at 1520 Polk Street, it leases from the City. This approval is contingent upon the issuance of all necessary building permits and approvals required by the Florida Building Code, the City of Hollywood Zoning and Land Development Code and the City of Hollywood Code of Ordinances. The Letter of Approval, as reviewed by the Office of the City Attorney, will authorize the Hollywood Historical Society to proceed with the proposed improvements to the Hammerstein House garage. The purpose of the improvement is to create a climate-controlled storage space for their archives.
