Explanation:
Pursuant to Resolution No. R-2016-368, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts received funding for the 2017/2018 Children's Services Council (CSC) Maximizing Out Of School Time (MOST) Year-Round grant available to fund Youth Summer Programs and After School Programs.
The grant required the execution of an agreement among the CSC and the City which was for a one (1) year period and provided for three additional renewals, and this will be to execute the second of the three renewals.
CSC has advised the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts of the FY 2019/2020 CSC grant funding award in the amount of $582,977.00 for Youth Summer Camps at Kay Gaither, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Washington Park, and McNicol Community Centers along with the After School Program at Kay Gaither Community Center and desire to renew agreement.
Pursuant to the grant agreement, the City will utilize the services of Russell Life Skills and Reading Foundation Inc. to provide tutoring and homework assistance in an amount not to exceed $72,000.00.
