Title

A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Establishing A New Sewer Rate Schedule And Various Sewer Fees And Charges Pursuant To Chapter 52 Of The Hollywood Code Of Ordinances.

Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

On August 28, 2019, the City Commission considered and passed on first reading an Ordinance that would provide that the sewer rate schedule, including various fees and charges, be established by this Resolution of the City Commission. On September 18, 2019, the City Commission passed and adopted the Ordinance on second reading. (Please note that the Ordinance No. will be added to this Resolution upon the City Commission passing and adopting the Ordinance.)

The sewer rates have not changed since October 2013 and City staff have determined that it is necessary to update these rates based upon the current Rate Study report dated July 2019, in order to allow a more stable flow of revenues to the City.

Several sewer fees and charges have not changed since July 2014, and are not covering the costs of the services performed and need to be updated.
