Title

A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Establishing A Water Rate Schedule Including Various Water Fees And Charges Pursuant To Chapter 51 Of The Code Of Ordinances.

Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

On August 28, 2019, the City Commission passed on first reading an Ordinance to amend Chapter 51 that would provide that the water rate schedule, including various water fees and charges, be established by this Resolution of the City Commission. On September 18, 2019, the City Commission passed and adopted on second reading the Ordinance. (Please note that the Ordinance No. will be added to this Resolution once the City Commission has passed and adopted the  Ordinance.)

The water rates have not changed since October 2013 and based upon the current Rate Study Report dated July 2019, City staff has determined it is necessary to update these rates and fees in order to allow a more stable flow of revenues to the City.

Several water fees and charges have not changed since July 2014 and are not covering the costs of the services performed and City staff has determined that these fees and charges also need to be updated.
