Explanation:
The City applied for a grant from the Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for the Florida Resilient Coastlines Program Award 2018/19 grant cycle (R-2018-347), to make resiliency improvements at the City's Marina boat ramp (Project) at 700 Polk Street. The original total Project cost was estimated to be $619,675.00 with a portion of the FDEP grant funding estimated to be $450,000.00 with the City committing funds in the amount of $169,675.00 in order to complete the Project at its estimated cost. On October 25, 2018, FDEP awarded the City grant funding in the amount of $400,000.00. In addition, on January 17, 2019, the parties executed the grant agreement, allowing Project expenditures to commence while maintaining the original Project completion date set for May 31, 2019.
Upon completion of construction documents and submittal for permitting, one of the Construction Management at Risk firms retained pursuant to Resolution No. R-2019-025, evaluated the Project, design intent, Project scope, estimated costs, which resulted in plan revisions and modifications of estimated Project costs. As a result, the current estimated Project cost has increased from the original cost of $619,675.00 to an estimated Project cost of $921,900.00.
