Explanation:
The concept for painting intersections and crosswalks with decorative designs was presented to the CRA by the Parkside Civic Association as part of the Parkside Pride Project. Initially the project was exclusive to the Parkside neighborhood, however, after presenting the concept to the CRA Board, it was decided to include intersections in both the Parkside and Royal Poinciana neighborhoods. The CRA staff launched a “call to artists,” and the Mural Review Committee selected four designs for the intersections located at 19th and 20th Avenues and Van Buren and Polk Streets. These locations are within the neighborhoods and equidistant from Hollywood Boulevard.
On June 26, 2019, Notice of Availability of Quote Number 1906-001 was posted on the City’s Website, advertised and sent to 4067 firms and viewed by 40 vendors on Bidsync.com in accordance with the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, Section 38.42 (A)(1). Responses were received by Paint Quest LLC in the amount of $75,000.00 and Razorback LLC in the amount of $154,000.00. The CRA Executive Director and the Director of Procurement and Contract Compliance recommend that the CRA Board approve the issuance of a Purchase Order for all aspects of the service of painting decorative intersections and crosswalks on four intersections and crosswalks located at 19th and 20th Avenues and Van Buren and Polk Streets to Paint Quest LLC for a one-time purchase in an amount not to exceed $75,000.00.
