Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

The City is the owner of a 4,474 square foot building at 5731 Pembroke Road and adjacent 25' wide vacant parcel, which has been operated as a day care facility known as the Sue Gunzburger, Washington Park Child Care Center.  Sue Gunzburger, Washington Park Child Care Center is partially impacted by a 100-year flood zone.  Therefore, the City desires to secure coverage for a flood insurance product for a not to exceed amount of $910.00.

 

On May 15, 2019, through RFP 4606-19-AP and Resolution R-2019-116, the City designated as its Broker of Record, Aon Risk Services, Inc. of Florida.

 

Funding for flood insurance has been provided for in the fiscal year 2019 budget in the City’s Self Insurance Fund (Fund 58).
