Explanation:
The Port Everglades Rowing Club d/b/a the Hollywood Rowing Club (HRC) is a non-profit organization. HRC was established in 1985 and has been part of the Hollywood community since 1990. HRC provides for and supports rowing programs for all ages and capabilities. They are an integral part of the activities at Holland Park supporting the Hollywood community.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 2017-198, HRC and the City have a current agreement which expires on July 31, 2019 but does provide for renewals. Under the current agreement HRC provides compensation to the City for use of the premises.

HRC recently purchased and installed a new floating dock with two decks at Holland Park. The cost of the dock was $55,215.00. Additional labor cost in the amount of $15,850.00 was for labor which included removal and disposal of the old dock and installation of the new dock. The HRC has requested that the recent purchase and installation of the new dock in the amount of $55,215.00 be accepted in lieu of rent. Hundreds of residents utilize the park and the abutting waterways. The new dock directly benefit City of Hollywood residents and guests while enhancing the look of the park.

The HRC is requesting a 10 year agreement with a five year renewal. This term allows for the club to continue to support current programs with the goals of reaching new participants. The facilities and programs are conducive to the park and surrounding neighborhood and such programs help maintain the balance between passive and active activities.
