Explanation:
The Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort project received approval for a Sign Variance, Design, and Site Plan in November of 2010 for the construction of a 349 room hotel including restaurant space, retail space, banquet hall space, swimming pools and other amenities, and associated public/private parking garage. Subsequent amendments took place in 2011 for elevation changes and onsite amenities, some of which included water related activities. Final construction of the hotel included build out of several larger suites on the upper floors (floors 11 thru 18).
Many of these larger suites have not been booked by guests as frequently as originally anticipated. Today MVHF, LLC, ("Applicant") is requesting the allocation of up to 20 additional bonus hotel density rooms from the Hollywood Beach Hotel Room Pool (Hotel Room Pool) for a total of 369 rooms for the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort project. This request does not increase the building footprint in any way, as the Applicant is proposing to down size (or subdivide) a portion of the existing larger suites (14 suites) in the building to accommodate the additional rooms. Along with this request, is an amendment to the Site Plan for the additional rooms.
The Hotel Room Pool is a finite number of rooms, established in the City's Comprehensive Plan, that are available under certain conditions to properties in with a General Business Land Use in Central Beach.
