Explanation:
National Gun Violence Awareness Day was established to honor and remember all victims and survivors of gun violence, and to declare that we as a country must do more to reduce gun violence.
Moms Demand Action is a national organization that annually sponsors a National Gun Violence Awareness Day in cities and towns throughout the United States on the first Friday of June.
The proclamation will be accepted by Debbie Hixon, Moms Demand Action, who is also a Hollywood resident.
The proclamation will be presented at the June 5, 2019 City Commission meeting.
