Staff Recommends: Presentation of Proclamation.

Explanation:

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has declared the month of May, 2019 as Historic Preservation Month.  This year’s theme is “THIS PLACE MATTERS”. Preservation Month provides the perfect time to show how the community's history honors the past and helps build the future.  The City of Hollywood has always placed a priority on preservation through the adoption of historic preservation ordinances, designating historic sites and districts, and continually supporting historic preservation activity throughout the City.  The attached proclamation recognizes this commitment to historic preservation.

The proclamation will be accepted by Steven Toth, Chair, Historic Preservation Advisory Board.

The proclamation will be presented at the May 15, 2019 City Commission meeting.
