Title

A Resolution Of The Hollywood, Florida, Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”), Authorizing The Appropriate CRA Officials To Terminate The Trolley Circulator Shuttle Agreement With Maruti Fleet And Management, LLC.

Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

On June 3, 2015, the CRA Board passed and adopted Resolution No. R-CRA-2015-29 for Maruti Fleet and Management to provide transportation services for the CRA’s Beach and Downtown Circulator Shuttle Service, until September 30, 2018.

The CRA Executive Director approved an extension administratively for the period of September 30, 2018 until December 31, 2018, and on December 5, 2018, the CRA Board passed and adopted Resolution No. R-CRA-2018-54 to extend Maruti Fleet and Management’s contract until June 30, 2019.

This resolution seeks authorization to terminate the agreement effective May 31, 2019.  The City of Hollywood will be entering into an Agreement with The Free Ride to provide an on-demand circulator service which is expected to commence service on April 30, 2019.

The CRA staff has determined that the Trolley services will not be needed for the entire duration of the extension period (June 30, 2019) and finds that a one month time frame will allow adequate time to transition from the Trolley service to the on-demand service.

The agreement allows for the termination of the contract upon a 30 days written notice without cause with the CRA Board’s approval.  The CRA staff recommends terminating the agreement, and will ensure passengers are notified a minimum of 30 days in advance of the discontinuation of service.
