Explanation:

Certain routine and periodic revisions and adjustments to the authorized assignment of positions are considered to be appropriate and necessary during the Fiscal Year.

This resolution seeks to adjust the assignment of authorized full-time positions, job classifications and pay grades previously established for proper budgetary control.  These adjustments are due to changes within and the addition of departments and offices.

On January 16th, 2019, the Commission approved a Resolution (R-2019-006) increasing the number of full-time positions from 1,273 to 1,275 for fiscal year 2019.

This enclosed resolution includes the following changes:

                     Transfer of 1 Code Compliance Officer to the Public Works Department (funded by the CRA);

                     Addition of 1 Plumbing Inspector and deletion of 1 Plumbing Plans Examiner within the Development Services Department; and

                     Addition of 1 Custodian and deletion of 1 Electrician within the Public Utilities Department.

The additional changes listed above increases the number of full-time positions authorized for fiscal year 2019 from 1,275 to 1,276.
