Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

The Police Department, contingent upon City Commission approval, intends to submit a VOCA Grant proposal to the Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, for the continued funding for a Police Department Victim Advocate.  VOCA Grant funds will be approximately $70,739.17 and the required in-kind services for the grant will be approximately $17,684.79.

                      

The Chief of Police recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to submit a VOCA Grant proposal to the Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, and provide an in-kind match in order to continue funding for a Police Department Victim Advocate.
