Explanation:
The Police Department, contingent upon City Commission approval, intends to submit a proposal to the Florida Inland Navigation District Derelict Vessel Removal Program Grant. The Florida Inland Navigation District (“FIND”) initiated this grant program to assist with the removal and proper disposal of derelict vessels from waterways. If awarded, grant funds for the award period Fiscal Year 2019, in the amount of $12,500.00, together with $12,500.00 in matching funds from Broward Boating Improvement Program Grant, approved by R-2017-239, will be used for the removal and disposal of derelict vessels located in the waterways of the City of Hollywood. The Chief of Police recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to accept, if awarded, the Fiscal Year 2019 FIND Derelict Vessel Removal Program Grant funds.
