Body

Staff Recommends:  Presentation of Awards.

Explanation:

The City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts hosted the 63rd Annual Candy Cane Parade on Saturday, December 8, 2018 on Hollywood Beach Broadwalk.  The theme was “Celebrating our Seas”.

The ocean’s breeze embraced our guests as they gathered to join in on the excitement with about 35 parade entries filled with families and friends.

With changes made to protect our environment, participants were challenged to create an entry in support of the City’s initiative to promote an eco-friendly beach.  Therefore, we would like to thank those participants who followed the vision and incorporated walkers to hand out candy instead of tossing or throwing it.

We would also like to thank the judges, and the difficult decision they had to select the winners who are being recognized today.
