Explanation:
Staff identified 13 concrete poles along the beach that were damaged by the salt environment and needed to be replaced. Staff prepared bid documents and estimated the project at a cost of $65,000.00. On November 5, 2018 the CRA bid out this project as low bid and on December 11, 2018, two bids were received and opened. The low bids were as follows: (1) Sagaris Group, $90,000.00; AUM Construction, $146,050.00. Since the bids came in higher than the estimated cost the CRA Executive Director recommends canceling the low bid.
