Explanation:

Due to the increased pedestrian traffic and activity, there is a need to increase daily maintenance and security in Downtown Hollywood.  The CRA had piggybacked off an agreement for maintenance and security from the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District of the City of Miami, Florida.  At the time it was initiated, the services provided for were appropriate; however, over time, with the increase of activity, it has been determined that a greater level of service is required.  The blanket purchase order was limited in scope and funding.  In addition, the labor rates as dictated by the blanket purchase order were stagnant, and hindered the hiring and retention of qualified staff.

The CRA desires to terminate Blanket Purchase Order B002646 and based on the award of new request for proposal for clean and safe services, will be able to provide continuous maintenance and safety services in the Downtown District of the CRA.
