Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.


Explanation:
The Department of Public Works, Environmental Services Division desires to purchase 95 gallon curbside collection carts and 95 gallon curbside recycling collection carts.

The purchase of 95 gallon carts will maintain a standardized supply of equipment currently being utilized by residents throughout the City for both solid waste collection and curbside recycling collection.

On January 24, 2016, Miami Dade County publicly solicited RFP-00254 for Waste Carts, Recycling Carts, Cart Parts & Related Products and Services.

On October 5, 2016, Rehrig Pacific Company was awarded a five year contract for the purchase and supply of 95 gallon refuse collection carts and 95 gallon recycling carts as well as accessories.

Section 38.40(C)(5) of the City's Purchasing Ordinance allows the Director to procure, without following formal procedures, all goods and services which are subject of the contracts with the state, its political subdivisions, the United States government, other governmental entities, or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, provided however, the goods and services are: (i) the subject of a price schedule negotiated by the state or the Unites States government, or (ii) the subject of a contract with another governmental entity or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public offices, or any combination thereof, which contract is based strictly on competitive bids or competitive proposals and not on any preference.
