Explanation:
On March 1, 2017, the CRA Board passed and adopted Resolution No. R-CRA-2017-09 which authorized CRA officials to jointly apply with City of Hollywood (City) for, and if awarded, accept, the South Florida Transit Oriented Development (SFTOD) grant to implement a Station Area Master Plan.
The Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council (TCRPC) awarded a grant for a total of $205,000.00 to the City and CRA and the parties executed an Interlocal Agreement. On December 2, 2017, the TCRPC staff conducted a public charrette followed by an Open-Design-Studio from December 3 to 9, 2017, for input into the Station Area Master Plan. On October 3, 2018, CRA staff presented the final Draft Station Area Master Plan to the CRA Board. After due consideration and public outreach efforts, the CRA Board, deems it appropriate to adopt the Station Area Master Plan as more specifically set forth in the attached Exhibit "A". The Station Area Master Plan is determined to be consistent with the goals and objectives included in the Amended and Restated Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown District of the CRA, which was passed and adopted by the Hollywood City Commission pursuant to Resolution No. R-2016-179 in accordance with Chapter 163, Florida Statutes.
This Station Area Master Plan can be utilized as the supporting document for the establishment of a Transit Oriented Development District along the Florida East Coast (F.E.C.) corridor, from Sheridan Street to Pembroke Road. The establishment of such a Transit Oriented Development District will be coordinated with the City's Division of Planning and Urban Design.
