Explanation:
On July 8, 2015, the City and Waste Pro of Florida ("Waste Pro") entered into an agreement pursuant to Invitation for Bid No. F-4457-15-RD ("Bid") for Waste Pro to provide curbside recycling collection services for an initial three year, three month, eight day term with the option to renew for two additional two year periods or on a month to month basis. The City Commission has directed the Department of Public Works to conduct a solid waste analysis, researching various options for solid waste services, including but not limited to commingled collection and disposal services, solid waste collection and disposal services, converting from alley to curbside collection, collection frequency, recycling collection and processing services, etc. The Department of Public Works has contracted with a Solid Waste Kessler Consulting Inc., who specializes in consulting and procurement services in the area of solid waste.

The current contract with Waste Pro, will expire on January 31, 2019, however, City staff determined that it is necessary to extend the renewal term until July 31, 2019 in order to allow both the City and CONSULTANT to explore the various options determined as an outcome of the analysis and to have continuity to provide the services during said timeframe.

Waste Pro, has agreed to offer the City an interim agreement, and it is in the City's best interest to extend the current agreement until July 31, 2019; however, the curbside recycling collection services unit price rate set forth in the current agreement will increase from $2.99 per month (a weekly cost of...
