Explanation:
The City of Hollywood continues to strive to fulfill its long-term vision to significantly enhance safety, mobility and provide transportation options for its citizens and visitors throughout the City, including the State Road 7 Corridor. The City has coordinated closely with the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), which actively supports local governments in implementing Complete Streets projects structured to enhance mobility for non-motorized road users.

The MPO has secured funding in the amount of $900,000.00 from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to design and construct such a project along the intersection of Hollywood Blvd and State Road 7, and in cooperation with City and Broward County Transit has completed a planning study identifying the components to be included in the implementation phase of the project.

The MPO desires for the City to take over the design, permitting and construction phase, and will be required to cover maintenance for the improvements. The project funding will be available upon approval of the Resolution and award of the Construction Phase of the Grant to the MPO. All work must be completed by March 2022.
