Staff Recommends: Approval of the Attached Authorization to Proceed (ATP)

 

 

Explanation:

On August 26, 2015, through Resolution R-2015-255, the City Commission authorized design fees for Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc. in the amount of $246,784.00.  Currently the City has issued seven ATP’s to Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc. in the amount of $297,924.00.

 

The contractor is behind schedule and is currently in Liquidated Damages.  The project delay by the contractor is resulting in additional contract administration charges from the consultants.  The cost of additional consultant services will be borne by the liquidated damages to be deducted from the contract.

 

ATP No. 8 for additional services in the amount of $10,501.00 will bring the total to $61,641.00.  An increase in the contract amount in excess of $50,000.00 requires City Commission approval in accordance with Section 38.47(E)(1) of the City’s Code of Ordinances.

 

Funding is available in account number 34.2116.16501.522.006301.
