Explanation:
The existing Return Activated Sludge (RAS) Pump Station No. 1, located at Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (SRWWTP), was constructed in 1973 and the electrical and mechanical equipment has reached the end of its useful life.
On December 6, 2017, pursuant to Resolution Number R-2017-369, the City awarded the professional technical services for the design, permitting, and bidding services for the proposed RAS Pump Station No. 1 Rehabilitation to Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. in the amount of $74,466.00.
It has been recently determined during design by SRWWTP Operations that RAS Piping from Clarifier Nos. 1 & 2 and the associated isolation valves are beyond their useful life and require immediate replacement.
The City requested a proposal from Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. to provide Professional Engineering Services for the design, permitting, and bidding services related to the Replacement of RAS Piping and the associated isolation valves from Clarifier Nos. 1 & 2 as part of the RAS Pump Station No. 1 Rehabilitation project.
Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. and the City of Hollywood have a Professional Services Agreement for General Engineering Consulting Services for Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects, and this agreement was approved by the City Commission pursuant to Resolution Number R-2017-283 on September 20, 2017.
