Explanation:

The Public Works Department requires an agreement for Disaster Debris Monitoring Services which includes, without limitation, assistance in the preparation for a disaster, temporary debris management sites, oversight for road clearance and debris loading, provide field oversight functions, and facilitate communications with various federal and state agencies involved in the disaster recovery process.

The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, issued Request for Proposal #865-11764 for Disaster Debris Monitoring Services, and on September 7, 2016 awarded the Contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, Thompson Consulting Services. LLC. for the term beginning September 7, 2016 and ending September 6, 2019, with two optional one year renewals.

The appropriate city officials have determined that the contractor is qualified to provide the required services and is currently providing these services to the City of Fort Lauderdale in a satisfactory manner.

Section 38.40(C)(5) of the City's Purchasing Ordinance allows the Director to procure, without following formal procedures, all goods and services which are subject of contracts with the state, its political subdivisions, the United States government, other governmental entities, or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, provided however, the goods and services are: (i) the subject of a price schedule negotiated by the state or the United States government, or (ii) the subject of a contract with another governmental entity or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public offic...
