Staff Recommends: Approval of the Resolution

Explanation:

In 2016, CRA staff was tasked to develop a Dune Master Plan for the City of Hollywood and Beach CRA district focusing on opportunities for dune restoration where stable vegetated sand dunes currently do not exist within City limits and for future management and maintenance of dune zones within the Beach CRA district and other areas that have severe erosion conditions.

The City Commission of the City of Hollywood Florida, created a Dune Master Plan Task Force consisting of 11 members and added two city-wide members and appointed 13 members to the Dune Master Plan Task Force.

Moffatt & Nichol provided a proposal in the amount of $80,600.00 to perform services associated with dune master plan development, advice to task force, feasibility of the extension of the oceanfront Broadwalk from Georgia Street to Magnolia Terrace, and other coastal/flood services.

The necessary funds for this project are available from the Construction - Dune Restoration account number 63.0100.16828.552.006301.
