Explanation:
The CRA Board passed Resolution, No. R-CRA 2017-05 authorizing the appropriate CRA officials to negotiate and execute a contract with the highest ranked firm selected to provide architectural and engineering services for twenty (20) lifeguard towers and first aid stations. CPZ Architects was selected as the consultant and was authorized to proceed to develop construction documents for the lifeguard towers and first aid stations. On April 2, 2018, the CRA bid out this project as low bid and on May 7, 2018, two bids were received and opened. The low bidder submitted an unresponsive bid and the second bidder’s bid was significantly higher than the estimated budget. In order to lower the construction cost to an acceptable amount, construction documents were revised and rebid as per bid BCRA 16-002 dated May 31, 2018. The CRA Board supports staff continuing with the new bid BCRA 16-002 dated May 31, 2018.
