Staff Recommends Approval of Attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

CDBG funding previously awarded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to the City of Hollywood remains unexpended and is available to be re-allocated by the City for program use, and CDBG Program Income received by the City is available to be allocated by the City for program use.  HOME Program Income is also available to be allocated by the City for program use.

 

In this item staff recommends allocating $358,130.65 of CDBG Program Income and reallocating $338,393.35 of unexpended CDBG program funds previously allocated to Housing Services, Capital Improvements, Neighborhood Beautification, Street Lighting and Sidewalks to alternative CDBG-eligible activities that improve recreational facilities in low- and moderate-income areas, service Section 108 Loan Guarantee debt  and support emergency shelter operations at Broward Outreach Center.

 

In addition, staff recommends allocating $103,065.01 of HOME Program Income to the existing Hope South Florida Tenant- Based Rental Assistance program.
