Explanation:
The Department of Development Services requires the retention of multiple vendors to provide assistance to City staff for inspection and plan review services.
The required inspection and plan review services were competitively solicited by the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s solicitation number RFP 575-11849 was opened on February 7, 2017, and was awarded to multiple vendors including Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc and C.A.P. Government, Inc. On May 16, 2017 for a two (2) year initial term with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period.
Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc and C.A.P. Government, Inc. Have agreed to extend the same pricing, terms and conditions to the City of Hollywood as provided to the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Calvin, Giordano & Associates services are in the annual estimated amount of $400,000.00 and C.A.P. Government, Inc.’s services are in the an annual estimated amount of $400,000.00 for a total cumulative amount for all services of $800,000.00.
The Interim Director of Development Services and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve the attached blanket purchase orders for inspection and plan review services to Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc and C.A.P. Government, Inc
Section 38.40 (C)(5) of the Purchasing Ordinance allows the Director to procure, without following formal procedures, all goods and services which are subject of contracts with the state, its political subdivisions, the United States government, other governmental entities, or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, provided however, the goods and services are: (i) the subject of a price schedule negotiated by the state or the United States government, or (ii) the subject of a contract with another governmental entity or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, which contract is based strictly on competitive bids or competitive proposals and not on any preference.
Award is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk Manager.
Funding for the agreement will be made available in account numbers 01.1416.00172.541.003117 and 01.1410.00134.541.003130, as needed.
