Explanation:
The Department of Human Resources requires an agreement with a qualified vendor to provide health screening services including a comprehensive medical physical/examination for eligible Fire Rescue & Beach Safety personnel in order to provide the City's contractually negotiated annual medical examination benefit paid for by the City.
In addition, the Department of Human Resources will make available the health screening services including a comprehensive medical physical/examination to ancillary City personnel with all costs to be borne by the employee and at no cost to the City.
The Department of Human Resources staff researched and reviewed medical health screening physical services available and determined Life Extension Clinic, Inc. d/b/a Life Scan Wellness Centers was the provider best able to meet contractually negotiated annual medical examination benefit requirements.
On February 21, 2018, the Procurement Services Division posted Notice to Sole Source Number NTSS-012-18 to procure Annual Physical Examinations, electronically on BidSync to vendors and in various locations in City Hall, and identified February 28, 2018, as the posting expiration date.
The Procurement Services Division received one challenge of Notice to Sole Source Number NTSS-012-18 from MDNow, but after numerous attempts to obtain comparison pricing; MDNow determined they were unable to provide identical services and opted to withdraw the contest.
