Explanation:
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) celebrates the first full week in May as "Drinking Water Week." Drinking Water Week is a nationally proclaimed observance. This year, Drinking Water Week is being celebrated May 6-12, 2018.
The City of Hollywood Public Utilities Department provides residents with safe and clean drinking water 24 hours a day, 365 days a year utilizing State-of-the-Art facilities. Drinking Water Week is also celebrated with the Water Conservation Poster Contest program involving the City of Hollywood's schools and educating the students on the importance of conserving drinking water. In addition, the Public Utilities Department established the “Drop Savers At The ArtsPark At Young Circle Gallery Show”.
The proclamation will be accepted by Ali Parker, Outreach Coordinator, Department of Public Utilities.
The proclamation will be presented at the May 2, 2018 City Commission Meeting.
