Explanation:
Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc. ("LES") owns a vacant parcel of land in the 2200 Block of Evans Street in the Liberia Neighborhood legally described as Crispus Commons 170-49 B Parcel A. LES has partnered with the Broward Alliance for Neighborhood Development ("BAND") to construct twelve (12) townhomes on the site. The dwelling units will be offered for fee simple purchase to households earning up to eighty percent (80%) of the Area Median income.

The State of Florida's Department of Economic Opportunity ("DEO") has established a Community Contribution Tax Credit Program to induce the private sector to make community contributions for the conservation or redevelopment of the community, including housing for very low and low-income residents. The Community Contribution Tax Credit Program provides a financial incentive (up to 50% tax credit or sales tax refund) to encourage Florida businesses to make donations toward community development and housing projects for low-income persons.

LES and BAND desire to submit application to the DEO to participate in the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program. In order to do so, Florida Statutes require that LES and BAND submit along with their application to DEO a resolution passed and adopted by the local government, certifying that the Project is consistent with local plans and regulations.
