Explanation:
Approximately 45% of the City's water customers are without sewer.

During the June 21, 2017, City Commission septic-to-sewer conversion workshop, the City Commission directed the Department of Public Utilities to provide sanitary sewer to the areas that are without sewer.

Department of Public Utilities staff determined the most efficient and economical way to implement the septic-to-sewer conversion is in conjunction with the water main replacement program.

The 441 Corridor Septic-to-Sewer Conversion project corresponds to the Water Main Replacement Project No. 16-5137 (Hollywood Boulevard to Taft Street between State Road 7 and Florida's Turnpike and from Johnson Street to Taft Street between N. 56th Avenue and State Road 7) approved by the City Commission pursuant to Resolution No. R-2017-106.

The City requested a proposal from EAC Consulting, Inc. to provide professional engineering services for the design, permitting, and bidding phases for the proposed sewer system.

EAC Consulting, Inc. and the City of Hollywood have a Professional Services Agreement for General Engineering Consulting Services for water, sewer, reuse, and stormwater infrastructure projects, and this agreement was approved by the City Commission pursuant to Resolution No. R-2017-284 on September 20, 2017.
