Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached resolution.

Explanation:

The City is responsible for the continued maintenance of railroad crossings by city roads, such as Johnson Street crossing over the Tri-Rail or SFTRA corridor.

FDOT is the owner of the railway corridor and assigns SFRTA the responsibility for operations and maintenance. In 2017 SFRTA provided the City a report on the conditions of railroad crossings, including Johnson Street just west of I-95, and asked if the City desired to fund rehabilitation in the coming Fiscal Year.

Funding was appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2018 Capital Improvement Plan under Resolution R-2017-289. SFRTA is ready to proceed with the work upon receipt of the executed Railroad Reimbursement agreement Grade Crossing and Traffic Control Devices.

Staff recommends approval of the Railroad Reimbursement agreement Grade Crossing and Traffic Control Devices for Johnson Street.
