Explanation:
In 2016, Don Tichenor filed a civil action against the City of Hollywood, for damages allegedly arising out of an accident that occurred on or about September 5, 2015. In his civil action, Don Tichenor alleges that he slipped and fell as a result of the City’s failure to maintain a boat ramp located at Holland Park, 801 Johnson Street, Hollywood, Florida 33020. Don Tichenor’s claim is for personal injuries. The City Attorney and the Plaintiff’s attorney have negotiated a settlement in the amount of $85,000.00. If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund. The City Attorney recommends that the City Commission approve the negotiated settlement.
